Bicycle

What is Bicycle?

Bicycle is abdominal exercises designed to work and strengthen the core. While lying on your back and moving your legs (in a way similar to pedaling on a bike), your abs will “crunch” as you draw your leg in toward you. Bicycles are a great exercise if you are trying to target multiple areas of your abdominals, such as your obliques and upper abs.

How do you do Bicycle?

  • Passo 1

Start by lying on a mat with your lower back pressed firmly into the ground. Place both hands behind your head.

  • Passo 2

Lift your legs off the mat at a 45-degree angle as you begin to lift your head and neck off the ground, keeping your abdominal muscles pulled in.

  • Passo 3

Start to lift your upper body up and draw one of your knees in towards your body. At the same time, twist your head, neck and shoulders toward the leg that is drawing inwards, letting your elbow touch your knee.

  • Passo 4

Twist to the other side, moving toward your opposite leg as it draws in towards you.

Opinião de especialista

Bicycle twists greatly benefit your obliques and upper abs when done correctly—especially, if you manage to stay lifted as you twist to the other side.
