Margaux was phenomenal! She created a welcoming and empowering space that allowed me to truly relax and breathe into each pose. This class was very grounding and a great way to start/end a week. Also a 10/10 soundtrack, highly recommend!

    Candlelight Yin

Easy to find location, beautiful open yoga studio with a fireplace and relaxing vibe. Allie was very spiritual and motivating, loved having her guide me through the meditation. I call it meditation because the candlelit vin was less yoga poses and more mindfulness relaxation. Still loved every part of it! Great for after a day of stress at work.

    Yin Nights

Absolutely a fan of this studio. The instructors are extremely helpful, and will assist without you needing as explicitly ask. The flow was great, deep long stretches and it felt so much longer than an hour. 10/10 I will also recommend this studio for a good start or continuation of practice.

    Hatha Yoga

The address led to a brick colonial in what could be any American suburb. But inside ElevatedYogi, something profound unfolds where most people watch Netflix. I was the sole student on a recent afternoon, which meant luxurious space to sprawl across borrowed mats in what was clearly someone's former living room. The studio focuses on ancient yoga practices, encouraging students to sit in meditation for as long as they like after sessions—a commitment that becomes clear when your instructor, a skilled practitioner with deep knowledge of traditional techniques, begins class with alternate nostril breathing. Nadi Shodhana, meaning "purification of channels," aims at clearing the subtle energy pathways while bringing balance to the system. This wasn't wellness theater; it was the real thing. Research shows this breathing technique enhances parasympathetic nervous system function, reduces anxiety, and improves respiratory endurance—benefits ancient yogis intuited millennia ago. The sequence honored yoga's 5,000-year journey from northern India, moving through crow pose, fish pose, deliberate chaturangas, and floor flows that demanded both strength and surrender. Triangle pose felt especially grounding on the hardwood floors, while boat pose challenged core strength against a backdrop of suburban bay windows. Shoulder stands and inverted splits literally shifted perspective in a room where most people might debate dinner plans. The lengthy final savasana wasn't rushed—a luxury in today's fitness-industrial complex. ElevatedYogi operates as both home studio and retreat space, with five bedrooms available for guests seeking deeper immersion. The homeschool challenges assumptions about where transformation happens. While yoga has evolved into a worldwide, multi-billion-dollar business, this stripped-down approach returns the practice to something more intimate. No mirrors, no branded water bottles, no competition for the perfect spot near the instructor. Just you, borrowed props, and practices that predate most world religions. The instructor's expertise shone in subtle details—proper breathing cues, traditional sequencing, and space for genuine meditation rather than rushed relaxation. This is yoga as lifestyle rather than workout, honoring traditions where people rose at dawn and spent considerable time practicing Dhyana, Pranayama, and Dharana. ElevatedYogi succeeds in creating something increasingly rare—authentic traditional practice divorced from commercial pressures. The residential setting might seem unconventional, but it actually returns yoga to its roots: intimate, transformative, and focused on inner development rather than external achievement. For serious practitioners seeking traditional techniques over trendy flows, this suburban sanctuary offers something profound. Sometimes the most transformative experiences happen in the most unexpected places—like someone's thoughtfully converted living room where ancient wisdom meets modern life.
